Welcome to Zacharys' Shack
Andrew Becks (1st July 2015)

Zachary Kai SandersZacharys' Shack orginally Zach's Helping Hand was a charity orginally registered on 27th May 2006 by the parents of Zachary Kai Sanders a lively 2 year old boy diganosed with Medullablastoma in February 2004. Zach relapsed and sadly died on 21st September 2004.

Zachary Knighton-Smith who, just before his 5th birthday in February 2009 was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma.Zac enjoyed 4 fantastic holidays in Skegness with Zach's Helping Hand, but he lost his fight on 1st January 2014. Zac had some money left in his appeal fund and his parents decided that the balance of his appeal should got to Zach's Helping Hand. On 14th May 2015 Zach's Helping Hand officially became Zacharys' Shack

Zachary Knighton-SmithZacharys' Shack aim to help families that have a child with ANY life threatening or life limiting illness, not necessarily just cancer, it could be any life threatening illness that requires regular hospital visits. As parents to children ourselves that have died from cancer, we are aware that the treatment to try and help them can leave the child with disabilities of varying degrees.

At present, we have just one caravan at Butlins Skegness but it is our aim to fundraise for another one to enable us to accommodate more children. The caravn is available to children with life threatening illnesses in the Northamptonshire area covered by Kettering General Hospital.

I feel lucky to know such lovely people who are game for a laugh enough to take part. Also to thoes who stepped in at the last minite. Thanks to the 2 girls from Barclays Bank. Sam Wilson and Lucy for organising the "Match it" for us, to Far-Out Faces: Face Painting for stepping in at the last minute to do the face painting at no cost to us and of course Gav Wooding at the Hopmaster General - stop4beer Micropub and Bottleshop for sponsoring one boat and the Rotary Club of Rushden for sponsoring the second boat. Also to a lady called Michelle who made about a thousand yummy cakes. Not sure how much we raised yet but I think if there was a prize for the most sponsors it would go to Adam Mackay for getting in excess of £300 sponsor money.
